The AR Cité project brings together Students, Teachers, Artists, Media Professionals and Community Knowledge Keepers. By collaborating together in multidisciplinary teams, we have built the app (in Unity), researched the locations and produced all of the media content.
There have been over 50 students who have been directly involved in AR Cité! We’ll be posting their bios over this semester.
Reisa Levine – Project Lead
Faculty – Cinema | Communications, Dawson College
Prior to teaching at Dawson, Reisa was a project manager in educational gaming and mobile app development. Reisa also worked at the National Film Board of Canada in many capacities and produced the award-winning Citizenshift (and later Parole citoyenne) Social Media Web platforms. She has produced films, Web sites, podcasts and multimedia installations.
Nancy Rebelo
Faculty – History, Dawson College.
Nancy has worked on various public history projects, including Project 55: A Historical Audio Tour of Ethnic Communities on St-Laurent Boulevard Aboard Bus 55 and Refugee Boulevard: Making Montreal Home After the Holocaust. These projects showcase the voices and memories of Montrealers, providing an intimate and untold history of the city’s diverse communities. She has also worked on many initiatives to ensure student success within Dawson’s Social Science program.
Bérengère Marin-Dubuard
Faculty and Profile Coordinator – Interactive Media Arts, Dawson College.
Bérengère, aka beewoo, is a media explorer who experiments with perception in the entangled built and digital architectures that shape our lives.
At the roots of beewoo’s interactive media explorations and by means of photography, live video processing, tangible interfaces, interactivity, and more, are questions about agency, control, embodiment, and perspective as they are affected by technological development.
Ramona Ramlochand
Faculty – Cinema | Communications, Dawson College
Ramona is also a visual artist and has shown widely in Montréal and abroad. She has received several Canada Council and Conseil des arts et des lettres grants, and her work is held in several public collections, including the Museé du Quebec, the Canada Council Art Bank, and the City of Ottawa. University), and she lives and works in Montreal.
Jiri Tucker
Faculty – History and Classics, Dawson College
Jiri teaches Latin, Classics and History with a demonstrated background of working in the education as professor and management. Jiri has worked on his own media production projects and has been an enthusiastic collaborator on AR Cité and has supported several student participants.
Mathilde Geromin aka LaMathilde
Multimedia Artist
Since 1999 lamathilde has been developing her artistic career as a video artist (LAMATHILDE) and performance artist with WWKA collective. Her work has been present in numerous festivals and galleries around the world.
She holds a master’s degree in linguistics (UQAM / Université Tours), and two bachelor’s degrees in cinema & communication (Université Poitiers). Her work focuses on identity through gender and sexuality, power relations / social oppression, and trauma. Whether deploying an intricate edit of visuals and words, or using a startling sound-image juxtaposition, she reveals ideas outside the usual parameters debate.
